Chapter 7: Moon Gets on His Knees and Begs

Moon worriedly gnawed on his claws, hesitating in front of Cadence's door after gently knocking. Oh god, oh god, oh god, he hoped she didn't already report Sun. Please please please-

His thoughts were interrupted as the door opened. There stood Cadence, and Moon jerked back slightly as he saw her not wearing a shirt. All she wore was a small black covering that covered her breast area but not her stomach.

"O-oh, u-u-um…" He stuttered, face alighting in blush as he looked away.

"What's up?" She asked, crossing her arms as she leaned against the doorframe.

"U-uh, before I… talk about what I came for, shouldn't you… uh… cover up?" Moon said shyly, looking at his feet as his right hand rubbed the back of his neck.

She blinked, glancing down at herself before looking at him with a smirk. "Think I'm half-naked? Get yer mind outta the gutter." She teased, and Moon sputtered, but she continued, "Besides, this ain't a normal bra, this is a sports bra. Meant to be worn like, for sports and such."

"O-oh… Um, sorry for assuming." Moon mumbled.

"It's cool, dude." She replied with a shrug. She tilted her head as she asked, "So, why are you originally here?"

Moon perked up, snapping his fingers as he said, "Right! I need to talk to you about Sun's behavior! May I… come in?" He motioned awkwardly to the door she stood in, and she nodded, stepping aside.

Moon stepped inside, slouching so his head didn't bump into the ceiling.

As she closed the door, he turned to her, reaching over her to quietly lock the door. He then fell to his knees, clasping his hands together and resting his elbows on the floor as he bowed his head.

"Please please please, I'm begging you, don't report Sun for what he did! He was misguided, he forgot you would view it as hostile! Please please please, tell me you haven't reported him yet!" Moon groveled, crawling forward, his hands desperately grabbing at her ankles.

Cadence looked surprised to see a 10-foot tall alien groveling at her feet, and she took a step back.

"Uh…" She started to say, but was cut off by Moon.

"I swear he didn't mean any harm by it! He was only trying to help you! Please please please, let me make it up to you! Anything to protect my brother!" Moon begged, pressing his forehead to her socked feet.

"Woah woah woah dude, chill out. Chill, chill. I didn't report your brother. I… didn't plan on it-" She started to say, her speech interrupted by a sneeze.

"Good health to you," Moon said on instinct, and she nodded in thanks.

"Thanks. I never planned on reporting your brother. Sure, giving him a good smack, but not costing him his position on the council. Look, you don't need to… uh… beg so very enticingly, it's almost all cool." She explained, and Moon sighed in relief.

"Oh, thank you thank you thank you." He said in relief, bringing himself up to a kneeling position, which is more comfortable than standing. He grabbed her right arm, peppering her hand with kisses.

She winced at the contact but didn't pull away immediately.

"Uh… You're welcommme.." She said slowly, hesitantly pulling her hand away. Moon let go of her hand, grinning happily.

"You should explain why he was going to bite me though." She said matter-of-factly.

Moon nodded, rubbing the back of his neck as he explained, "Okay. Well, he was going to help you heal. His fangs secrete a substance that, out of a list of things, can help you heal quicker. I could too, but in a different way. You wouldn't have felt the bite, I promise!" Moon quickly put his hands out reassuringly.

She blinked, thinking for a moment. "Oh. I… I really shouldn't have overreacted." She said slowly.

"You were perfectly in your right to act the way you did! You didn't know his intentions weren't malicious. I promise, he isn't malicious, just stupid!" Moon quickly said, and she set a finger on his lips.

"I understand. Sun is a dumbass. I really did act a bit with too much, seeing as your species is viewed as the safest species in the universe. Tell me, however, what you mean you could help too." She said softly. Moon was stunned, and he slowly nodded. She removed her finger from his lips.

His beautiful red eyes blinked, and they suddenly began to swirl. She looked confused before she was pulled into the mesmerizing swirl of red and white.

"You no longer feel like shit. Your sickness will pass quickly, and you will feel better than ever afterward." Moon intoned, his voice dropping into a deep growl.

Cadence's shoulders sagged, her eyes drooping as she nodded slowly.

"You…. are very beautiful…." Moon added, blinking slowly before starting to lean closer, almost in a daze himself. "Very… very beautiful…" He murmured, face less than an inch away from hers before she jumped slightly.

"Woah, did you just fucking hypnotize me?" She exclaimed, and Moon quickly straightened.

"W-well, uh, I made it so you would heal faster," Moon replied sheepishly. He cleared his throat, standing as he said, "I should go…"

As he started to walk to the door, he was stopped as her hand grabbed his left wrist.

"Hey, give him a good slap for me, will ya?" She asked with a smile, and Moon smiled back with a nod.

He left, returning to his accommodations.

Sun, as usual, was on the couch, but he jumped up as Moon entered. "Please tell me you smoothed things out? Oh who am I kidding, you could smooth talk sour curds into cream cheese!" Sun exclaimed, wrapping his arms around his brother in a hug.

Moon hugged his brother back with a smile. "Oh, the human gave me a message to give you," Moon said, and Sun leaned back curiously.

Moon then SLAPPED Sun across the face, Sun gasping audibly. He held his face, looking at his lunar counterpart in shock.

"Why didn't she give me the message herself?" Sun asked.

Moon rolled his eyes, shaking his head as he walked past to their shared bedroom, muttering two words under his breath:

"Simping masochist."
