Chapter 29: Questions and Love Bites

Sun jittered happily, taking a bite out of a red onion. He could never understand why it was called a red onion, even though it was obviously purple. He liked the taste of onion, it stung slightly, and it made his stomach feel all weird and warm and tingly. Kind of like when he was around the human.

Speaking of which, he was making his way to her room now. He finished his onion, licking his fingers clean before he knocked at her door.

"It's open!" She called, and Sun opened the door. Cadence was lying on her bed, reading a book as she wore black shorts and a sports bra. "Sup?" She said, not looking up from her book.

Sun giggled giddily, crawling onto her bed. He crawled on top of her before he plopped down, giggling.

She lifted her book when Sun's head forced the book up, his chin resting on her chest as he smiled giddily at her.

She quirked a brow, smiling as she said, "Wassup, golden retriever?"

Sun giggled again, resting his face on her chest. He liked being called that. Golden retrievers are an Earth creature, companions to humans, soft, with soft mouths, making them good with children.

She has called him a golden retriever sometimes, since his energy reminds her of one.

He reminds her of a dog in general. He liked that. He likes dogs.

"What you want?" She asked, poking his head.

"Nothing. Moon's busy, so I decided to bug you instead," Sun replied.

She chuckled, gently stroking his rubbery rays. "Oh yeah? And Eclipse is where?" She asked.

"Visiting our mother. She's thinking of visiting," Sun replied.

"Oh, cool," She replied.

"Well, we have to hide you, so less cool," Sun supplied.

"What?" She said dryly, and Sun looked up to see her looking a mixture of unamused and confused.

"Well, whenever we introduce a girl, she always teases us and asks if the girl is our girlfriend. She's very friendly," Sun said sheepishly, before a thought occurred in his head (for once).

He looked at her, his eyes darkening slightly as he grinned. A subtle click was heard, his fangs becoming visible as his head loomed over her, casting a shadow on her face as his back arched slightly. His rays fluffed out, claws nearly digging into the bedsheets as he looked a her with an almost predatory gaze.

To a stranger, this would be seen as intimidating and threatening. But Cadence knew this was just him showing excitement.

"I know Moon told me not to ask, but would be you our girlfriend?" He asked, his voice deeper than usual.

Her eyes widened, blinking in surprise. She glanced to her right before saying, "W-what do you mean 'our'?"

Sun grinned happily, leaning in closer as he said happily, "Me, Moon, and Eclipse's!"

She narrowed her eyes at him as she said, "Nah, Eclipse don't like me that much."

Sun nodded as he said, "He does! Head over heels! Besides, it's normal," his right hand trailed down, grabbing her hips lightly as he leaned in closer, grin growing wider, "to share."

"D-doesn't that sound like a thing y'all should talk about before talking about it to me?" She stuttered, squirming slightly as she fidgeted. Sun didn't have the brain cells to realize she was avoiding the initial question.

"It's tradition," He said, voice almost dropping to a growl. He leaned forward and gently placed a kiss on her chin. "Twins are most common, after all. It's perfectly normal to share mates amongst siblings," He murmured, fangs grazing her skin.

Her eyes widened, and she gulped quietly. Sun giggled, placing a gentle kiss on her throat and almost tasting her nervousness. "U-u-um, well, uh..." She stuttered, her brain starting to short circuit as her face grew warm.

Sun let out a low rumble, teeth grazing her neck as he awaited her answer. The flesh of her neck is so soft and warm, he had to resist the urge to sink his fangs in like a juicy honeydew.

"C-can I answer at a later time?" She squeaked, hands fidgeting.

Sun nodded as he murmured, "Can I bite you?"

She hesitated for a moment, and Sun started to pull away when she didn't answer immediately. It's fine, he doesn't need to bite her, but it would definitely be nice-

"O-okay..." She said softly, turning her head to the side and looking to her right shyly.

Sun perked up, diving back. He gently peppered kisses where he planned to bite her, softening her resolve. She relaxed slightly, and Sun's hand snuck underneath her, gently rubbing her back.

Wait for it, wait for it... Now.

When she was relatively relaxed, he sunk his fangs into her neck, and she tensed as a small whimper left her throat. Sun comfortingly rubbed her back, his right hand snaking up and gently cradling her head as his fangs flexed, injecting his venom into her bloodstream.

His eyes started glowing a soft pink, a low rumble building in his chest. Her arms wrapped around his neck, and she clung to him as his venom started flowing through her bloodstream.

Some time ago, they had made sure she wasn't allergic to his venom - which she wasn't. And by extension, she wouldn't be allergic to Moon's venom either - weak as it may be.

Eclipse's venom is a whole different story, but he didn't care about that right now.

He pulled back, licking her wound before continuing to gently kiss it. Cadence lightly hit her head on his shoulder, Sun's right hand grabbing the back of her head and forcing her to stop.

He could say it didn't bother him, but that would be a lie. It did bother him. She hit her head when she was bored or happy, and he didn't like her hitting her head. He didn't want her to accidentally hurt herself.

He got lost in his thoughts too long. He pulled back, lidded eyes looking down at her neck.

"Oops~" He purred, noticing the hickey he 'accidentally' left.

"What you do," She said softly, eyes closed as she breathed shakily.

"I may have left more of a mark than I intended~" He purred into her ear, kissing the shell as he held her close.

Her eyes opened slightly, looking at him with narrowed eyes. But her eyes closed again when he gently kissed her, pulling her close as his arms wrapped tightly around her, right hand holding her head still.

They may not officially be in a romantic relationship with a label, but he can settle for an unlabeled romantic relationship.

He can wait. He has time. After all, they've known each other for over a year now.

Most other females he has met usually want romantic labeled attractions very quickly. But not Cadence, no no no, not Cadence.

She makes him work for it.

And he couldn't be happier.

He laid her gently on the bed, getting bolder with his actions as he smirked, hands gripping her hips.

He can wait.

She will come around eventually. And until then, he would be happy to wait for that eventual answer he craves.

Yes.
