Chapter 26: Imagine Being A Theater Kid And Getting Embarrassed When Moon Sees Her Perform, Lmao

Moon's hands fidgeted as he walked, making his way to Cadence's room. Yesterday, she had given him access, putting him on the database so he could enter at any time, aside from when she has it locked for anyone but herself.

He knocked at the door three times, counting to 10 before opening the door.

Cadence was standing in the middle of the room, back to the door as she held a paper in her hands.

"Is it tight?" She asked breathlessly, quiet for a minute before she sniffled, falling to the ground as she cried out, "This is the end of our unhappy lives!"

She sniffled, shaking her head as she said firmly, "No, I mustn't give way to grief." She put her hands together, looking at the ceiling. "My parents died when I was a boy," She glanced at the papers in her hand, "and I grew up thanks to the efforts of my uncle, who was my master. It disgraces me to die without repaying this kindness. Instead, I shall cause him trouble which will last even after my death. Please forgive my sins. Soon I shall see my parents in the other world. Father, Mother, welcome me there!"

She muttered under her breath a moment, sniffing before saying, "I'm ready." She mimed drawing a dagger, sniffling as she mimed holding a knife to someone's neck. "Namu amida. Namu amida. Namu amida butsu." She twisted her hand.

"Must I lag behind you? Let's draw our last breaths together." She said, miming slitting her throat before falling forward. She exhaled heavily.

A couple seconds later, she sat up, bowing to the wall as she said, "And... curtain."

Moon applauded her, and she jumped up and whirled around as she yelped, "HoLy FuCkInG sHiT-!" She hid the paper behind her back, looking at Moon with wide eyes.

"You saw nothing!" She squawked, and Moon opened his mouth to speak, but she cut him off, "You saw nothing!" Moon smirked, covering his eyes.

"When you walked in. I was just. Standing here. Like totally normal person!" She said loudly.

"And, as a 'totally normal person', what were you doing?" Moon asked with a smirk, letting his hands drop.

She was silent for a moment before walking over and hiding behind the bed.

"When you walked in. I was. Nowhere to be seen." She said loudly.

Moon chuckled, nodding as he backed out of the room and closed the door. What had she been doing? Was she reciting a play?

He would ask about it later. She seemed very embarrassed to be caught.
