Chapter 9: Moon Gets a Smooch Too

Moon hummed softly, an upbeat tune that he heard somewhere, not knowing where the tune came from. He decided to see the human, as he had heard what Sun had did a few days ago and wanted to make sure she wasn't mad or anything.

He gently rapped his knuckles on the her door, waiting patiently.

The door opened and he stepped back in surprise. "Y-your hair?!" He sputtered in shock.

She blinked up at him, her usually brown hair now covered in a cream colored gunk that was bleaching her hair. She wore gloves and was massaging the thing into her hair.

"What about it?" She asked, and Moon blinked in surprise.

"Y-y-your hair.... It's... What are you doing?" He asked.

"I'm dying it. I decided that I wanted purple hair again, so I need to bleach it before I can make it purple." She replied with a shrug.

"You can... change your hair color?" He asked slowly. She nodded in response. "Uh, speaking of which, I came here to talk to you. Sun came home in a tizzy, and it turns out he kissed you... Any.... comments on that?" Moon asked hesitantly.

"Surprised, yeah. Stunned, shocked, flabbergasted. I did not expect Sun to do such a thing. I was extremely surprised. Couldn't even react before he ran off." She replied with a shrug.

Moon's fingers tapped against each other, and he opened his mouth to talk but stopped. After a moment of silence, Moon looked up shyly. "And.... did you, uh...." He started to ask, but both of them jumped as her phone let out a shrill screech from where it was sat on her desk.

"Oh, alarm. I need to wash out my hair." She replied, and Moon hesitated a moment before asking a burning question.

"Would you mind if... I watched the process? This is new to me. I would like to know how this whole hair dying works." Moon asked shyly.

She smiled, tilting her head as she said, "Oh, sure." She turned and walked over to the black door on the left wall. Moon followed after, his hands wringing nervously.

She walked into the room, which was a normal sized bathroom decorated in shades of black. She walked over to the tub and shower, taking off her shirt after taking off the gloves and setting them inside out on the counter.

He saw she was wearing another one of those 'sports bras', but he quickly looked away when she started to take off her shorts.

"Bro, I'm wearing booty shorts underneath." She said over her shoulder, and Moon glanced at her to see she was, in fact, wearing very short shorts that barely even covered the tops of her thighs. His face turned a light blue as she bent over the tub edge, turning on the water and starting to rinse out her hair.

"Usually I would just take another shower to wash out the chemicals, but since you are here that would be extremely awkward." She said, and Moon broke out of his staring of her shapely behind.

"Ah..." He said softly, watching her hands as she scrubbed at her scalp, though she never messed her hairstyle up too much.

It was interesting to watch as the cream colored substance washed away, showing pale blonde hair that blended with her pale skin tone. After a few minutes, she stood a little straighter, kneeling beside the tub.

"Towel?" She asked, reaching behind her and grabbing in his general direction. He grabbed a black towel off a hook, dropping the towel into her grabbing hand. "Thanks." She said, drying her face before starting on drying her hair.

"So you need to use chemicals on your hair if you want to change it?" He asked.

"Yeah. Why so surprised? You can color-change or something?" She replied, and Moon hesitated before humming in affirmative. "Really?" She said, looking at him over her shoulder as she bundled her hair up into a bun.

Moon pointed at his eyes as he said, "Uh, mostly eyes. Minimally, I can change my actual colors as well."

She blinked, looking surprised. "Oh, that's cool." She said, standing. She sauntered past him, exiting the bathroom.

"Can you explain a bit more about that hypnosis thing you did like, yesterday or something?" She asked, picking up a brush and starting to brush her hair.

Moon blinked, looking surprised as he said slowly, "That was over a week ago...."

She shrugged, "Same thing."

"How could you think something that happened over a week ago happened closer to yesterday?" Moon asked.

"Bad memory. I don't remember a lot of filler content, so keeping track of the days is hard." She replied, humming softly as she brushed her hair.

Moon wrung his hands, bouncing from foot to foot as his nightcap-like appendage on the top of his head squirmed, the tip rolling into a ball and glowing softly.

"Cadence...." He said softly, and she looked at him questioningly. He stepped forward, his mouth working. She looked at him patiently as he tried to formulate his words.

His hands grabbed her cheeks and he dove in, leaning in close as he kissed her. She tensed, and Moon quickly pulled away, eyes wide as blush bloomed across his face.

"Reallywantedtoknowwhatitfeltlikesorryfornotaskingbye!" He blurted, running out as fast as he could, accidentally tripping over his own feet at the door and crashing heavily to the floor. He just jumped up and ran off.

Cadence was stunned, tips of her right hand going to her lips as she mouthed, "What...."

Moon slammed the door closed when he got into his and his brother's shared living place. He breathed heavily, patterns under his skin glowing faintly as his nightcap-like appendage wagged furiously, the tip glowing brightly.

"Ooh! Moon, what did you do?" Sun teased from the couch, looking up from his human magazine.

"I-I-I-I kissed the human." Moon stuttered, "On the lips. Oh no, I didn't ask, I hope she doesn't hate me!" Moon's hands went to his head, and he slid down the door with a worried expression.

Sun cackled, hopping up and strutting over. "Trust me, she doesn't hate you. She doesn't hate me for it, does she?" Sun replied, narrowing his eyes for a moment before saying, "See? She was surprised by what I had did, but she didn't say she hated it." Sun lightly elbowed Moon's side as he sat next to his worried lunar twin.

"Finally get bold enough, eh?" Sun teased.

Moon groaned, burying his face in his hands.

"I should have asked..." He muttered mournfully.
