Sun hummed happily, rapping his knuckles on Cadence's door.
It opened moments later, Cadence now having bright purple hair.
Sun blinked, looking surprised as he said, "Oh! Your.... That's new."
She chuckled, fluffing it as she said, "I like to give my hair around a week to 'breathe' after I bleach it." She brought her hands up for air quotes around the word breathe.
"Well! It looks good on you!" He said cheerily. He leaned in closer ever so slightly as he added, "But that is not why I am here. I wanted to try something, maybe make it a weekly thing?"
She tilted her head, looking curious as she quirked a brow. "Well, you have my attention." She said.
Sun giggled, suddenly picking her up and slinging her over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. She let out a surprised yelp, her hands clutching his back as he started to walk.
"WHAT do you think you are-" She started to say, but Sun cut her off.
"I baked you a cake!" He said cheerily.
She stopped, processing his words before huffing and relaxing. "I can WALK you know." She grumbled, crossing her arms.
"I know!" Sun said cheerily.
It only took a few minutes to reach Sun and Moon's living space, and Sun barged in with the exclamation, "Oh brother~!"
Moon looked up from his work on his tablet, looking confused at the view of Sun with Cadence slung over his shoulder.
"What are you doing?" Moon chuckled as Sun plopped Cadence onto the couch.
"I've taken Cadence hostage so she can eat cake! Because I am a big and scary monster!" Sun said cheerily, playfully baring his fangs at Moon while handing Cadence a glass of water.
She snorted, rolling her eyes as she said into the cup, "Trust me, I've seen some scary monsters." She took a sip, not even flinching when Sun plopped down next to her with a small cake in hand, pulling her onto his lap.
"Speaking of which, I have always been curious what your job is?" Sun said, gently poking her lips with a fork loaded with a bite of lemon icing.
"Bounty hunter." She said with a shrug, taking the bite.
Sun and Moon both looked up in surprise.
"Bounty hunter...?" Moon whispered.
"Oh... So you.... So you... Oh." Sun said, blinking.
"What's so surprising?" She asked, looking between them.
Sun and Moon chuckled, looking away awkwardly as Sun replied, "Well, we... know someone who is a bounty hunter, and you seem too.... sweet to be in that business."
"We really thought you would more work with animals or maybe be a general heavy labor worker." Moon added, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Hey, you wouldn't expect me to be a bounty hunter, neither would my targets." She replied, chuckling. Sun fed her another bite, deep in thought.
"Have you ever.... killed somebody?" Sun said softly. Cadence merely nodded.
Moon's hands fidgeted, and he opened his mouth to speak but thought better of it.
"I try to always bring them in alive though. Unless I can't. But that is super rare." She said, shrugging.
Sun hummed, and the room fell into a comfortable silence as Sun fed Cadence the cake he baked.
Sun and Moon glanced at each other, the same question on their minds;
She's met their brother at least once, hasn't she?
